FAQ

Everything in one place

Every puppy on this site is $900. That includes age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a pre-adoption vet check, health records, our written health guarantee, a starter pack of the food your puppy is already eating, and ongoing support from us after your puppy settles in.

It is coat only — temperament and size are the same. Short haired (smooth) chihuahuas need almost no grooming beyond a weekly brush. Long haired chihuahuas carry silky feathering on the ears, chest, legs and tail and need brushing two or three times a week to stay tangle-free. The long coat also takes until about a year old to come in fully.

Our chihuahuas typically mature at about 3 to 6 pounds and 6 to 9 inches at the shoulder. Final size depends on the individual puppy, and we will give you our honest estimate for the one you are interested in. We never promise a weight we cannot stand behind — any breeder who guarantees an exact adult size is guessing.

Yes. Each puppy is vaccinated and dewormed on a schedule appropriate for their age, and is examined by a licensed veterinarian before adoption. You receive the records with your puppy so your own vet can pick up the schedule from there.

Message us with the puppy you are interested in and a few lines about your home. Once we agree the puppy is a good fit, you sign the sales agreement and pay either the full amount (for shipping) or the $475 non-refundable deposit (for in-person pickup), with the balance due at pickup.

Yes. We ship through a reputable pet transport service and you receive tracking details. Shipping to your nearest airport is an extra $250, and door-to-door delivery to your address is an extra $300. In-person pickup is always free.

Apple Pay, Zelle, CashApp, Chime, e-Transfer (Canada only) and wire transfer. The full adoption fee is due before your puppy is delivered, whether by shipping or pickup.

Yes. You have seven days to have your puppy examined by your own licensed vet, and we cover patellar luxation, hydrocephalus and congenital heart defects for the puppy’s lifetime. Communicable disease diagnosed within fourteen days is also covered. The full terms are on our sales agreement page.

A chihuahua puppy has almost no fat reserve, so blood sugar can drop quickly if meals are spaced too far apart. We feed small amounts every three to four hours and send you home knowing exactly what to do, what low blood sugar looks like, and how to correct it. It becomes a non-issue once your puppy is a few months old.

With the right household, yes. Chihuahuas bond intensely with their family and get on well with other dogs they are raised around. Because an adult often weighs under five pounds, we are honest that very young children need close supervision — a chihuahua is easy to hurt by accident. School-age children who have been shown how to handle one are usually a great match.

Always a harness. Chihuahuas have a delicate windpipe and pressure from a lead attached to a neck collar can damage it over time. Keep the collar for ID tags and walk your dog on a well-fitted harness.

Far less than people expect. One short walk a day plus indoor play suits most adults, and puppies need only short bursts of play with plenty of sleep in between. They are an indoor dog that gets genuinely cold, so in winter a coat and a short outing beats a long walk.

Open the available puppies page, pick the puppy you like and use the inquire button on their card, or email us with their name. Tell us a few lines about your household and we will take it from there.

No. The first message can be short. We only need full details once you are ready to sign the sales agreement and reserve a puppy.
